damn, my neck hurts.... neway, i just finished watching one of my fave movies of all time, i'm kinda not sure of the title but i think its My Girl. basta its the one where macauley culkin dies cause he was stung by bees... wehe yeah, i know, i haven't written in a long time. sobrang busy kasi eh. :(
sportsfest day. a day of tears & laughter. labo, yes. but if you were there, you'd understand.
#1 - 3 out of 3 muses from the juniors reached the top 5. 4 out of 4 muses from us, the seniors, did not, i repeat, DID NOT get into the top 5. please, a blind man could see that something wrong was happenin' there. to my fellow judenites (um, excluding the juniors, i guess) , i'm sure you sniffed out something fishy here right??
#2 - as the cheering champions last year, there was great pressure on us to live-up to our title. and it was great pressure especially on us, the cheering squad, to do our ultimate best. but to our dismay (an understatement, i'm sure), we only bagged the runner-up title. and guess who won? yup, the juniors. i mean, we accepted the fact that we were only second best, but when the juniors won. i don't know... it was just devastating to us. i haven't cried like that in long time. not since my little sis passed away. it was very painful. even more painful because the attitude of the juniors is something you wouldn't want to binge on if it was edible. if you don't believe me, here's some proof: when it was our turn to perform, as we entered the gym and all the cheerers doin' what they were supposed to do, like placing the props where thay should be, accdg. to arvin, as he was placing the flags at a place near the juniors' cheering squad, he heard some of the male cheerers chanting, "losers, losers, losers..." accdg. to Bola, Jally and the rest of the peepz that were with them, as they passed by the pingpong room where the juniors cheering squad was, again (i ain't naming names) some male cheerers were shouting, "losers, losers, losers..." but when Bola & Jally looked at them, they suddenly changed what they were saying and instead shouted, "juniors, juniors, juniors..."
that really made my blood boil when it was told to us. but you know what, a lot of good things happened on that day too...
*** yes, tears were shed. but from how many people? a lot! almost the whole batch cried for us. our sister squad, the sophies, cried too. our batch was made closer because of this. God works in the most mysterious ways. He made us value victory & defeat. He taught us to look on the brighter side of things. He taught us how to handle situations like this. He brought us closer together. He made us more of a family than we were before. even if the complexity and the uniqueness of our routine was not that appreciated by the judges, like ahya rj said, the squad's talents were developed. we did things we never thought we could do. i mean, my thumb is still not healed and i could still do my cartwheels! yipee! we can now do some mean stunts and jazz steps. i've discovered more crazy faces i could do for the sake of projection! wahaha
*** after the competition, we decided to celebrate anyway. we went to Red Box and had a blast! i still haven't gotten my voice back since that day, wahaha while we were singing like there was no tomorrow, people started to text us (thank you Sun Cellular!). the seniors were supporting us all the way! the sophies were saying that we were the ones that should've really won. and get this! some freshmen were texting us that too! imagine, even the junior's sister batch was supporting us!
*** hay... they might've gotten the trophy, but we got something more valuable than that. we became more mature. we became more bonded. boy, did we show some love! we got one of the best Christmas gifts ever! Go Seniors! i'm so proud to be part of this batch! God has blessed us so much! hey! how about a mass for this?? paging Watson & Maria... tara!
*** this is something i know i'll never forget. as we were shedding our tears, terrence aka jaundice told us, "Pagmasdan ninyo ang mga ngiti na yan, ngayon nyo lang makikita yan..." yeah boy! thanx... :D
